At 24-years-old, Iris Barbee Bonner is taking her Philadelphia style and fusing it with innovation, bursting colors and a whole lot of unique thoughts.

Yes, you guessed it! She’s an artist. The “Pop Art Princess” is making her way from the sounds of the “digital underground” into the cracks of Main Street’s cement.

Symbolic of a beautiful and delicate rose – the talented visual artist covers the June 2009 cover of American Dreaming Magazine while taking journalist B. Davis, behind the mind of a girl inspired by fashion and the shape of a woman.

Like the Kelis’ Kaleidoscope intro, “I think we’ve found her…”

I actually found out about Bonner through photographer Thi Chien‘s MacBook shell. I had no idea that his “slanted vision” could look like this:

After that, your favorite alternative journalist decided to do some research and you should be glad that I did. This girl is bad.

Long story short: Bonner had plans on becoming a fashion designer until she realized that she couldn’t sew. She took her drawing skills as a tool to display her first love. The stylish Charter High School for Architecture and Design alumnus plans to open her own gallery and eventually teach. She told American Dreaming that she’s into, “Shoes, clothes, art and food…” and art allows her “to be free.”

Sounds like our kind of girl. Check out more from Bonner in the years to come. In the meantime, peep some of her exclusive work (that she doesn’t like to sell). Enjoy fashion junkies…

I absolutely love her work! She is a very great and innovative artist. I think it would be a great idea for her to open up a gallery and share her art with alot of people who will appreciate her creations.
