Pharrell Co-Signs “All-Black” Style With Moncler
He’s been quiet on the music scene of late (besides producing “Fresh Out The Oven” for Jennifer Lopez), but Pharrell Williams is once again making moves in the world of fashion.
“Skateboard P” has teamed up with elite Italian brand Moncler for a special edition of men’s jackets.
Following in the footsteps of his pal Jay-Z‘s “all-black everything” style movement, the collection features black outerwear only and will makes its debut debut in fall 2010.
Standout pieces include a “pacifist” version of the bulletproof jacket, with Velcro-ed side slits, reversible matte/shiny down vests and elongated puffers.
Reflecting Pharrell’s growing environmental activism, the jackets are fashioned using textiles from Bionic, a three-year-old company he controls. Bionic spins yarns and fabrics from recycled plastic bottles.

Pharrell says the collaboration was indeed a challenge for him and whatever his demands were when designing the jackets, the “answer was never ‘No, it’s not possible’” [from Moncler].
“Pharrell represents a visionary and contemporary eclecticism, as well as a multifaceted way of interpreting creativity from different standpoints, ranging from music to applied arts and clothing,” says Remo Ruffini, Moncler’s chairman and creative director.
Prices and distribution details are still being finalized.
