Naeem Khan Shows The Passion Of India Via Michelle Obama
After sporting a gorgeous Rachel Roy skirt earlier in the day to embrace Indian culture, Michelle Obama decided to step out in Naeem Khan‘s hand made dress designed just for the First Lady. Last night on “Larry King Live,” the native India designer Khan explained how it took 40 people, three weeks and lots of passion to create the dress that gleamed on Ms. Obama.
The event: The State Dinner with a special invitation to India.
According to Wikipedia.com, a state dinner is: “… a dinner or banquet paid by a government and hosted by head of state in his or her official residence in order to renew and celebrate diplomatic ties between the host country and the country of a foreign head of state or head of government who was issued an invitation.”
With a sleeveless gold and sequin silk chiffon dress and shawl that matched, the Obamas welcomed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Mrs. Gursharan Kaur to the State Dinner last night in Washington, D.C. The night was most definitely royal and Khan’s design made it overly stunning.
From the streets of India and family owned workshops in which the dress was sewn to runway shows with magnificent designs – over at Dr. Jays Live! we encourage you to keep your eyes on Naeem Khan and his work to come.
In the tone of 50 Cent,”Have a dress on Michelle, you can be a millionaire.” ::Laughs::
