Lupe Fiasco enemy of the state

Lupe Fiasco is doing it again, or at least he’s doing it via his Twitter account WeAreLasers.

He announced (vaguely?) that this newest mixtape is a lead up to this third and final album. Lupe is super talented and always struck me as a moody artist who wanted more to make music than be a superstar. Especially following the whole fiasco (sorry) when he forgot the lyrics by A Tribe Called Quest (several message boards didn’t let him live it down) at the VH1 Hip Hop Honors.

I wasn’t bothered by the minor debacle but I can’t help but wonder if it’s why he’s giving up the gauntlet. We definitely need artists like Lupe to stick around. I have to say if he really does go into retirement that I will be disappointed.

What do you think Lupe will get up to after his retirement from music? I want to say fashion but I’ve seen him wear some terrible outfits: like this for instance:

Whoa Nellllly – not really sure if he’s going on a tweed ride or horseback riding *smh*. Nevertheless, what he does do well is music, and you make sure you download this mixtape. It’s leading up to more mixtapes, and hopefully not, his last album.

  • Lupe originally stated that his next album would be his last and that the name of it would be L.U.P. End. He has since gone back on that declaration and I believe he is under contractual obligation to do three more albums, so we should be hearing a lot more from Lupe over the next few years.

lol that outfit actually looks nice (minus the gloves and the boots)

and i dont think that he should leave the music business but if he wants 2 then so be it!!!!
