Chris Brown Vs Drake: The Rebirth Of VIBE
VIBE, considered the “bible” of all urban magazines to many, returns resurrected and fully reloaded after folding a few months ago due to tough economic times.
The first issue of its rebirth features Chris Brown and Drake via a double cover. It’s been rumored they’ve shared the same woman (Rihanna); now they share the same magazine cover. Needless to say, this is interesting timing for both artists. Brown is trying to revive his reputation since pleading guilty to felony charges in June from the notorious incident involving Rihanna. His upcoming album, Graffiti, drops next week (Tuesday, December 8).
As for Drake, he’s making a reputation for himself since being the new kid on the block, enhancing his rap resume with numerous collaborations and extensive airplay. His debut album, Thank Me Later, is due the first quarter of 2010 and he’s now up for two Grammys: Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Song, both for “Best I Ever Had,” from his So Far Gone mixtape/album.
Leaves one to ponder – should the two do a song together in the future? And just for some friendly competition, which VIBE cover is going to sell more copies, Chris Breezy or Drizzy?
