Did Game Really Get A “Star Trak” Tattoo?
Out of all the hair brain schemes to get yourself noticed, or more noticed, by a artist/record executive- mainly Pharrell. What is Game thinking? Hasn’t anyone learned from Mobb Deep and 50 Cent getting their respective names tattooed on each other?
What I mean by “hasn’t anyone learned” is that Mobb Deep and 50 Cent both got each others names tattooed on each other, and if I remember correctly didn’t they end up beefing? Or if they aren’t beefing how come they’re not out making new music? Is Prodigy still locked up? Is Mobb Deep getting the P. Diddy treatment?
Nevertheless, back to the subject at hand. Game got the Star Trak logo tattooed on his arm in order “show loyalty” to Pharrell for producing his upcoming album R.E.D., even though Game isn’t even signed to Pharrell’s label yet. Game said that in the past he tried many times to get Pharrell onto his projects but they were a no go until recently.
Game stated that:
“Pharrell’s gonna take my career to the next level, keep me ‘hood and cross me over at the same time by executive producing my album, so that’s how I show my loyalty…Pharrell is my friend. We’ve created a work bond and established a friendship. Star Trak is gonna make me money in the future — that logo, that brand, that man helping me. That’s something that’s gonna put milk in my refrigerator and help me feed my kids, keep them in private school, and keep them doing what they do”
You know what, those are pretty respectable reasons right?
However, one thing I’ve noticed is that the industry is a fickle beast.
I for one don’t think it’s very wise to get logos or clothing labels tattooed on ones body. What if the label goes south? What if a clothing brand turns to garbage?
Do you think it’s wise for an artist to get a tattoo of a prospective label logo before the contract is even signed?
Also don’t know if you noticed, but is that a G Unit calligraphy tattoo above the new ink he’s getting?
