Precious, a film based on the novel Push has been nominated for three Golden Globe Awards: Best Drama, Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama (Gabourey Sidibe) and Best Supporting Actress (Mo’Nique). The story is a never-ending series of physical and emotional tragedies centered around a young woman whose circumstances dictate that there is no reason for her to continue living yet, she triumphantly pushes on.

I had been talking about this movie for ages and tried numerous times to drag folks to the theatre until someone finally agreed to join me on this epic emotional rollercoaster.  He actually stayed awake and even walked away from the experience with a deep appreciation for the film despite the countless teary-eyed moments, none of which I missed.

The Skorpion Show, a comedic duo also known as Kevin and Makael, recently took a very light-hearted approach to an otherwise Kleenex necessary scene and filmed a skit for YouTube (originally spotted at Concrete Loop). The video includes outtakes which prove how hard they had to work at getting the performance just right.
