Would you pay 5% tax to do this?

The cost to stay beautiful in America is about to become a heated debate as a proposal to slap a 5% tax on the process known as botox is a part of President Obama’s health-care reform package. Let’s find out what you think about this after the jump.

The idea has raised some disapproving eyebrows amongst such groups ranging from plastic surgeons to women’s rights groups to even some pharmaceutical makers. Folks actually became distraught when, according to TIME.com, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid slipped the “botox” levy into the health care bill last month in hopes of raising $5.8 BILLION over the next 10 years.

I don’t know about you, but that’s A LOT of sticking and moving for those looking to bypass Father Time.

While the tax would apply to elective NOT reconstructive plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures, opponents contend that the tax will unfairly target middle-income women (who wish to have those Angelina Jolie lips), threaten the confidentiality of patient reports (who reads those anyways?), and lead to a surge in people traveling to other countries for the writing wiping injections.

While I already have my passport, so I’m able to look 25 for the next 10 years, is this tax a little bit much or what we need to stimulate the economy? Read the full story here and share your thoughts in the comments section!
