Sports Talk: Week 15 NFL Picks

Submitted by on December 17, 2009 – 11:33 pm4 Comments

We are now in week 15 in the NFL and still have 2 undefeated teams with both the Indiapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints creating history with every game played.

Will both teams remain undefeated after this weeks games? Look inside to see who we think will remain undefeated and who will be upset this week.

Indiapolis @ Jacksonville: Indy
With the Colts defensive ends, Dwight Freeny and Robert Mathis doubtful this game could be closer than expected. But even a big game from Maurice Jones Drew (aka Pocket Hercules) wont be enough to knock Manning and the Colts off their unbeaten path.

New England @ Buffalo: New England
Tom Brady should have a field day throwing the ball against Buffalo’s struggling defense but he better keep his eyes on the Bills rookie ball hawking safety Jyrus Byrd who leads the league in picks. With that said Pats win big!

Cleveland @ Kansas City: Cleveland
This should be the least watched game of the weekend. There are no play off implications her. Who cares who wins? Cleveland will pull out the win in this game.

Chicago @ Baltimore: Baltimore
The Ravens are shaking in their cleets as their Pro Bowl Safety Ed Reed is questionable. If he doesn’t play, the Ravens pass defense is horrible at best. But the Bears best offensive weapon wide receiver Devin Hester is hurt, which gives the Bears no offensive play makers for Cutler to throw to. I pick the Ravens in a close but boring game.

Cinncinati at San Diego: San Diego
First things first, R.I.P to Bengals WR Chris Henry. The Chargers have won 16 straight games in December and with the roll they’ve been on, they are going to be a hard team to beat. Bengals starting free safety Chris Crocker is injured, which will allow the Chargers down field threats WR Vincent Jackson and TE Antonio Gates. Chargers picked to win this one.

St. Louis @ Houston: Houston

The Rams are missing QB Mark Bulger on offense and their fragile defense can’t stop Optimus Prime AKA Texans WR Andre Jones. Look to Houston QB Matt Schaub to have a huge game as the Texans win big.

Oakland @ Denver: Denver
It looks like Oakland has taken a life long vacation after there best win of the season vs the Steelers. Raiders QB Steven Gradkowski has torn ligaments in both knees in a loss to the Redskins and now QB Charlie Frye has to take take on one of the best secondaries in the AFC in Champ Bailey, Brian Dawkins, and Elmond Dunninville. I’ll take the Broncos in a blow out.

Pittsburgh @ Green Bay: Green Bay
It seems that for the Steelers if safety Troy Polomalu plays they win and if he doesn’t play they lose. The Packers are red hot and cornerback Charles Woodson is having a defensive MVP type season. Give me the Packers at home.

New Orleans @ Dallas
December and Dallas don’t mix. I’m going to make a statement and you can quote me on this “If Dallas OLB Demarcus Ware doesnt play, the Cowboys will lose by 14 or more. If he does play it will come down to the final ticks of the clock but in the end Saints win.

NFL AFC Divisional Playoff Game
Miami @ Tennessee: Tennessee
For those who dont know by now, Titans RB Chris Johnson has Hall of Fame potential. Eversince Vince Young was inserted back in to the starting line up the Titans have ripped apart the opposition, but a nagging hamstring injury could keep Young off the field. If that happens Miami could come away with a victory. But as for now give me the Titans.

Atlanta @ NY Jets: NY Jets
Falcons RB Michael Turner is out and QB Matt Ryan has a nagging foot injury. Look for the the Rex Ryan led Jets to crowd the line of scrimmage and put a lot of pressure on the Falcons QB. Jets RB Thomas Jones should run rampant on the Falcons defense. Give me the Jets at home with a victory.

Arizona @ Detroit: Arizona
A LOL match up. Arizona should have an easy match up and become one step closer to locking up the AFC West.

Minnesota @ NY Giants: NY Giants
This will be a close match up till the end. With the Giants finally starting to get back on track, they should be able to pull out a hard fought game against the Vikings.
