Is This The Worst Rapper Of All-Time?

The general consensus among music fans is that hip-hop is in a pretty bad state these days. And it’s not that difficult to compile a “worst rappers” list (having said that, it’s not all that difficult to find some quality hip-hop either – that’s another post for another day). But who’s the actual worst of the worst? We think we’ve found him!

From the get-go, there’s a few guys (and gals!) you have to take out of consideration. Rappers like Birdman, Jim Jones, Soulja Boy – they’re not lyrical beasts, they’ve never claimed to be, but there’s no doubt they’ve got hot tracks. Even if you love your lyrical content, you can’t tell me you’re not moving to “We Fly High” when it comes on the club.

You will be doing this dance when you hear “BALLINNNN!” in the club.

Then at the other end of the spectrum, there are the horrible, horrible, horrible amateur rappers. The MySpace rappers, the YouTube rappers. The so-bad-they’re-just-bad rappers. The “is this a joke?” rappers. To stand out in this crowd takes real skill – well, actually, the opposite of skill.

One guy has done just that. Check out the video below from “rapper” R.A.E.D., the track is called “You Gotta Love This City”. Doesn’t this guy have one friend to tap him on the shoulder to say, “Bro, maybe hip-hop is not the career for you”. We’re still not sure if they’ve used the wrong backing track in the video, such is the level of the “uniqueness” of this guy’s flow.

(Dishonorable mention has to go to Bangs, who is now actually getting booked for gigs on the strength of “Take You To The Movies” – funnily enough, Bangs and R.A.E.D. are from the same city – Melbourne, Australia!)

R.A.E.D. – “You Gotta Love This City” (track kicks in around 1:55)

And we know you’ve heard the original, so here’s the techno remix of Bangs “Take You To The Movies”.

Who else is challenging these two guys for WOAT status?
