More Problems For Shaq
In the midst of what may become a bitter divorce from his wife, Shaunie, and while still trying to define his role within the Cleveland Cavaliers – Shaquille O’Neal may have a new set of challenges to face. Find out about Shaq’s new issues after the jump.
Shaunie O’Neal recently went to The Wendy Williams Show to discuss her tumultuous marriage to the NBA superstar as well as her thoughts on sports, relationships, and infidelity. She also promoted an upcoming reality show, Basketball Wives for which she serves as executive producer.
Mrs. O’Neal was very respectful and mature when she discussed Shaq. He’s letting a good woman get away from him. I notice that she denied the personal trainer rumors, which means finding fault in this divorce may be very one-sided against Number 33. The evidence is mounting against him. Case in point:
A harassment lawsuit has been filed against The Big Aristotle by Vanessa Lopez, a model. She has hired famed attorney Gloria Allred – lawyer to many of the Tiger Woods mistresses – to handle her case.
This isn’t the first time allegations of harassment, not to mention legal action, have been hurled at Shaq. Back in 2008, an aspiring hip hop artist from Atlanta by the name of Alexis Miller got a restraining order against O’Neal after claims that he had threatened her.
Mrs. Allred tends to disclose any and all details about a legal opponent, so we don’t know what skeletons may emerge from Sheriff Shaq’s super-sized closet. What remains to be seen is if the living legend will settle with Ms. Miller out of court or have his day in court. If he does settle, he’ll bring a certain quote to mind.
“I should have done what Shaq does. Shaq would pay his women not to say anything.”
In other Shaq-related news, Gilbert Arenas (who has big problems of his own) has finally spoken out about his fiancee’s alleged affair with O’Neal – by denying the entire thing. Via his Twitter page, Arenas notes that he has viewed the alleged e-mails from the two and discredits them by their dates. His knowledge of the NBA schedule as well as of his fiancee’s whereabouts (of which he says he has ocular proof) contradict with the dates on the e-mail, which seems to suggest that the e-mails were contrived. Towards the close of ’09, I distinctly remember calling on us, the brothers to exert more self control. Looks like that New Year’s Resolution didn’t make it through the week.
What do you think? Is 2010 shaping up to be a bad year for Shaq? Is Gilbert Arenas right about his fiancee? Let me know in the comments section!
