The DMV Shows Support Through Haiti Benefit Concert
The super cool emcee Wale and the well-educated and fresh musician Tabi Bonney will team together tomorrow night at the 9:30 Club in D.C. to show their support to the millions of people who are without basic necessities in Haiti.
Both rappers are part of the “DMV Helps Haiti Benefit Concert” which is in effort to raise money for Haiti’s recovery, health and re-development.
Along with those two artists, performances by DC Don Juan, Phil Ade, XO, Kingpen Slim, K-Beta and Que (formerly of Day26) are expected.
The benefit concert will be hosted by BET‘s Chris Cole.
Not only are the artists donating their performances but the 9:30 Club has donated “the use of the venue, club employees are donating their wages and the advance ticket sales service charge also will be donated.” All proceeds are going to the Yele Haiti Foundation and the Partners in Health Organization.
If you’re in the D.C., Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area, feel free to find out more about ticket prices by clicking HERE.
In the meantime, enjoy one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite interviewees, Tabi Bonney:
DrJays.com Live! truly appreciates the hundreds of artists who’ve contributed to Haiti’s recovery. We thank you as well. We encourage giving back through art.
