Beauty’s Best Kept Secret: Avocado Shea Hair Butter

Submitted by on January 19, 2010 – 10:52 am4 Comments

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s safe to say I’ve fallen in love. Alexandra Smith, the founder and creator of Safi Natural Hair Care has launched the yummy-smelling solution for dry wintry hair. I decided to purchase the product after a friend with a head full of beautiful curls recommended it.

Raw Shea Butter
Pure Avocado Butter
Vitamin E
Peach Kernel Oil
Coconut Oil
Vegetable Glycerin
Organic Aloe Vera Gel
Sodium Lactate (natural preservative)

Product Description:

This Avocado Shea Hair Butter is a very light and subtle product that can be used on natural hair to style and moisturize. Ideally this butter can be used to hydrate parched curls and add shine to any style.
It’s also a great product to use for twist outs and braid outs. A little of this handmade hair butter goes a long way.

Having recently decided to transition from relaxed to natural hair, I was in desperate need of a good moisturizer. The Doo-Grows and old school hair grease were making my strands stiff and weighing me down with misery. I needed something without the harmful chemicals and empty label promises.

The pretty little envelope, decked out with a pink heart on the package finally arrived. I ripped it apart, opened the jar and literally sat there inhaling it for a good ten minutes before dipping my fingers in. It felt like an upscale version of frosting and smelled like shea, sandalwood, vanilla and cake.

It works wonders on my hair and the bonus is that it’s light enough to be used on the skin as well. There’s no such thing as missing phone calls or having your eggs burn up because you’re trying to finish your style and your hands are too oily to touch anything.
It also works magic on relaxed hair.

Be sure to check out Alex’s blog. Follow Safi on twitter for sale and product launch updates. (The latest one being her Whipped Marshmallow Curl Pudding) You can purchase the Avocado Shea Hair Butter at her Etsy store here. The 4oz jar retails for $10.00. Her products are sure to have you stalking the mailman down on a regular basis. Enjoy!
