Behind The Scenes: Daddy Yankee’s “Grito Mundial”
A few months ago, I had the pleasure and privilege of traveling to Buenos Aires, Argentina to style reggaeton superstar Daddy Yankee‘s first single “Grito Mundial” off his upcoming album, Mundial. This is my exclusive, behind the scenes diary for DrJays.com Live.
The styling direction called for sporty but slick apparel. I combined designers like Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton and Gucci with brands like Jordan, Sabit, Supra and J Brand to give it that roundabout but somewhat attainable aesthetic.
Here are some images I took while working out there – 18 hour days, thunderstorms, customs issues and lack of stylish boutiques did not hold me back!
These were the looks we selected from the fitting…
Check out security holding the fans back…
Fans camped out at the hotel we stayed at 24 hours a day. I think they even slept outside…

On location in Caserio Soldati, one of the worst ghettos in Buenos Aires…
