Beyoncé Brings The “Heat” To NYC Today

Submitted by on February 2, 2010 – 10:39 amNo Comment

Beyoncé couldn’t have picked a better time to launch her debut fragrance, Heat.

The multi-talented star just appeared on 60 Minutes Sunday, and broke a record on the same day taking home six Grammys – which makes her the most celebrated female artist at a single Grammy Awards Show.

Today, she is geared up to party hard in NYC in celebration of Heat. The fragrance’s licensee, Coty Inc., plans to bring flames, steam and fog to Union Square Park and 15 Union Square, where the official launch party will be held.

The building was formerly the original Tiffany’s store, and is set to house her celebrity guests like Bey’s hubby Jay-Z, along with friends like Usher, Kanye West, Michelle Williams, Iman, David Bowie, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys and  journalists invited from 40 countries. Sister Solange will be the DJ for the after party.

“I’m so happy with it,” Beyoncé said of her fragrance during an exclusive interview with WWD. “I’ve been working on it for a while now. I was on tour for a year, and I have meet-and-greets with fans. I’ve never in my life gotten so many compliments. Coty has their own testing, but that was my testing! The fans loved it. They were like, ‘I love that, I’m getting that, why isn’t it out right now? I need it!’.”
