BHM Fashion Tribute: Tina Turner
Tina Turner has truly earned herself the title of “The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll”.
Her fiery vocals, thrilling performances and rock star fashion have all helped the achieve icon status. She has sold over 200 million record copies worldwide, and more concert tickets than any other solo music performer in history.
Tina’s successful musical career landed her film roles as well, such as “The Acid Queen” in Tommy (1975), and “Aunt Entity” in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985), for which she won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress.
Through her career and personal highs and lows, Tina has remained fabulous with her with her wild hair, sparkling mini dresses, red lipstick and stiletto heels.
In 2008, the 70 year-old star hit the stage with current day diva Beyoncé for a memorable performance during the Grammy Awards. The duo sang “Proud Mary” together, in bright silver outfits.
As you can see, Tina’s still got it, with a career now spanning over 50 years.
