PREVIEW: Wu-Tang Clan Members’ New Album Art
This afternoon, Def Jam Records unveiled the artwork for the much anticipated Method Man, Raekwon and Ghostface album, Wu-Massacre.
With the Method Man and Ghostface being especially huge fans of comic books, the album cover is set to come complete with issue number, barcode, and the rappers shown as animated characters.
Kiki stopped by the exhibit, which included images of the album’s artwork in the making, as well as the finished products:
The album art was created by Chris Bachalo, who also worked on “The Wheel” (a short story about the character Death, created by acclaimed author Neil Gaiman). The artist has also drawn various characters for Marvel and the Vertigo, including Death, Sandman, Captain America and the X-Men.
Your thoughts on the concept?
While the album is now set to drop on March 30th, the hip hop trio has yet to come up with an official group name. There is currently a contest running on Def Jam’s website where fans can make suggestions, with the winner getting his/her name featured in the album’s liner notes.
