Inside Style With Celeb Stylist Kesha McLeod
Dear Style Mavericks and Mavens:
Whoa – what a month! As the month of February ends and March begins, I want to give you all a brief recap as to what’s been going on in the world of celebrity fashion.
I like to it “Superbowlinfashionmonth”. Several of my clients include NFL athletes, so early February I prepared a couple of looks for them for ProBowl and Super Bowl week festivities and began my New York Fashion Week shopping as well.
Literally running in and out of showrooms plus having an array of different inspirations throughout the streets of New York always get my creative juices flowing. One gentleman I worked with was Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers’ Tight End. I followed him around as he actually interned with designer John Patrick for Organic Clothing and attended a plethora of shows for NY Fashion Week.
We attended a host of different shows including Arise Magazine, William Rast, and Duckie Brown. There was not one show that didn’t have an awesome collection.
Below is a brief snippet of upcoming Fall 2010 looks:
With inspired styles like leather jackets and gloves, heavy scarves and mufflers and long length coats, the designers are giving us a few tools to fight the next winter battle in style.
Many of the designs had a very modern appeal to tradition. The Arise fashion show had a theme of “Conquering Grace”. Celebrating the launch of Arise magazine, the four part runway show took us across the globe with African designers like Xuly Bet, Tiffany Amber and Fati Asibelua.
There were definitely many moments to remember, for me to love fashion as much I as I do made the experience that much better!
As I prepare for this month and spring to come around (or as I would like to call it “Music Video Season”) I’ll be sure to post pics from different sets all over. In my next feature I would like to begin featuring stylist friends of mine and showcasing their work – so stay tuned!
