Amy Winehouse Returns With Clothing Line
While her battle with drug addiction was the low point of Amy Winehouse‘s career, her quirky fashion sense has landed her something very positive – she’s starting a clothing line with British fashion label Fred Perry.
“Amy has been wearing Fred Perry for years, so we were aware she was a genuine fan of the brand,” Richard Martin, Fred Perry’s marketing director, told Women’s Wear Daily of the initial pursuit of Winehouse for the design gig.
“Amy has a unique sense of style that reflects the brand’s own historical reference points.”
The 17-piece collection show Winehouse was definitely hands-on with design, with pencil skirts, capri pants and rompers featuring a heavy black and pink focus (much like the clothes of the 1950′s era where Amy draws inspiration from). Her signature ballet flats have not been included at this stage.
According to WWD, the collection will continue over four seasons and be sold in Fred Perry Authentic boutiques as well as through select wholesalers globally.
From the look of the designs below, are you feeling it? Or would you never be caught wearing something designed by Amy Winehouse?
