After a brief hiatus from the U.S. market to focus on global expansion, FUBU the Collection is officially back—and DrJays.com will be the exclusive online retailer of the brand.

The New York–based sportswear brand has returned to solidify its place in streetwear fashion with the new FB Legacy collection and the “Mr. FB vs. Mr. Trendy” digital campaign.

FB Legacy, inspired by turn-of-the-century industrial workman wear, is providing complimentary wardrobe staples and representing the modern man with core sportswear apparel. Rooted in the history of its predecessor, FUBU, FB Legacy is the modern-day response to ever-changing fads.

FB Legacy, taking note of FUBU’s marketing success, will launch the new collection to the masses with a series of digital commercials inspired by the popular Apple “Mac vs. PC” commercials. the video clips present “Mr. FB vs. Mr. Trendy” vignettes which compare the advantages and attributes of Mr. FB and Mr. Trendy, similar to the comparisons of Mac and PC. The Mr. FB character represents a classic, every day, casual sense of style while Mr. Trendy is the fad-laden fashionisto. Mr. FB is the present and future of timeless sportswear.

The “Mr. FB vs. Mr. Trendy” commercials will also feature a slate of actors, athletes and artists such as Clifton Powell, Slim Thug, Antwaun Smith (Mr. Universe 2009), Pinky and many more, who represent different versions of Mr. FB.

Check out the first one, featuring Slim Thug:

What do you think—can FUBU make a comeback in today’s urban market?

Damn near anybody can make a comeback. But its the name, FUBU, thats gonna have people skeptical about making the purchase. But if its done right, the people will embrace it just like they did Coogi and Triple Fat Goose.

  • Tony says:

It’s great Fubu is making a comeback but the clothes look like stuff from ROSS. The design and material look very cheap. The t-shirt looks like something that cost 5-10 bucks…Come on Fubu, you guys can do better than this. The jeans even look crap like Karl Kani. Fubu and Karl Kani used to be great in the hip hop market with creative designs and descent jean material. Now both brands look like they’re copying other brands with less quality material and trying to make money off the success in the past.

  • Big El says:

I agree. I wish that the clothes could’ve been made with better quality material. I’ll keep on buying my SEAN JOHN gear!

  • nelsonstl says:

    No.

  • 85%Hypebeast says:

Good luck FUBU trying to have a comeback when skinny jeans and other faggy $hit is popular now and I agree with Tony FUBU clothing looks like some low quality material.

  • DaveRilla says:

you’re all bunch of doubters and haters, FUBU was the “hot thing” back and now, w/ all these metrosexual stuff that’s running around hip-hop fashion, FUBU or (FB Legacy) will dominate and decimate all the opposition, believe me. Like their slogan, “Trend is short, Style is forever” peace.

  • w t f says:

    lol

It will sell. people will buy almost anything. But yeah they should of came out hard if they wanna reclaim anything. That was super blahhhhhhhh. They could of done much much better.

  • I’ll put it like this.

    1. Any brand can be rocked if you do it right. I’ve rocked some southpole and ecko gear and got as many compliments on it as sean john, coogi, fcuk, creative recreation (check the djpremium.com for the last two).

    2. If the brand comes out as clean as the stuff slim thug is wearing, in the first vid, then yeah it will make a comeback. The second vid uugggh not so much lol. I’m sorry, so much of that just don’t look right. The creativity, cut, quality isn’t really there.

  • BBLess says:

I saw the FB vest up close on a video shoot with Soulja Boy and that shit looked hell a tight. I was surprised at the quality also. This ain’t no low quality bulshit homie, This FB stuff is the REAL deal. I guess they ain’t lacing regular folks yet, but trust me, what you see on tv and on the net doesn’t come close to doing it justice. That FB vest is no joke. I looked at the fucker up close and they paid attention to ALL the details. Even the buttons for the FB logo on them. Don’t sleep…these dudes aint playin!

  • Michael says:

ohkay really now ..what are you doing with your life ? you are crazy if you think fubu is going to make a comeback ! DONT no one in they right mind dresses like that anymore …go jump off a bridge !

  • CHI_ROC says:

Wack. Ain’t nobody gonna rock this crap. Fubu don’t have the street cred it used to. If they want credibility they’re going to have to buy it, and they can afford it. Samsung owns them hos.

  • LorE. says:

    Let it go.

  • Golden Child says:

In my opinion, Fubu never made high quality clothes to begin with. Don’t get me wrong, I used to rock Fubu when I was in high school back in the late 90′s. But their clothes were selling only on the strength of the popularity of the logo and the brand name, not the actual quality of the clothes. Back then, nobody dropped hundreds of dollars on Japanese selvedge and or hand treated denim. Back in the late 90′s, it was all about the urban brand names instead of the actual quality of the clothes. Most urban brands that were once popular in the 90′s and early 2000′s (i.e. Enyce, Mecca Usa, Phat Farm, Avirex) are no longer selling because they make crappy quality clothes that are sold at Sears, JC Penny’s and Marshall’s. If Avirex were still making beautiful high quality leather jackets, which they no longer do, people in the hood in places like New York would still be buying them. Fubu should have taken a cue from other long-running urban brands that have remained relevant like Pelle Pelle. Although Pelle Pelle has never been a trendy brand popular with hipsters and suburbanites, Pelle Pelle knows that its main audience are urban consumers in cities like NYC and Philly that buy their high quality leathers.

  • BigP says:

I don’t care what the people say Fubu or FBLegacy as it is now called can make a comeback! They were deeply rooted in the community and new how to market themselves to the consumer. Styles change and trends change all the time. If they comeback with some relevant good quality stuff , why would it not sell.. They must be doing something right cause we are all talking about them again!!! I say give them a fair chance and if it is good product we should support them!!

  • BK says:

I’m not sure this will fly. The logos are TOO BIG and all over the place. That’s so 90′s. Screenprinting on polos look cheap, and the line isn’t standing out in the way that demands attention for a comebaclk. I think it’s a day late a dollar short for the FUBU guys.Sorry

  • BigP says:

I saw the product up close and it looked great! I would not do all of the styles I saw but most of it looked good. The question comes back to are you a leader or a follower? Do you say it wont make cause that what others are saying or do you do your own investigation and come to your own conclusions? The guys at Fubu or FBLegacy should be aware of what people are saying and use the feedback to meet their satisfaction. Again, I think they can do it cause they did it before! They just have to be new and improved!!

  • Chocolate says:

I’m not a fan of FUBU so I really dont think it can make a comeback..People that are still wearing it around today get talked about (not by me) so I think the chances are really low in making a comeback..Also it’s too many other brands that have come out and it just seems like everybody is trying to put a brand out there these days.

  • I’d like to thank you for that efforts you’ve got produced in writing this article. I’m hoping the exact same best get the job done from you inside the potential too. In reality your creative writing skills has inspired me to start my very own BlogEngine weblog now.
