Artist Spotlight: Bertell
Bertell (born Bertell Young), a 24-year-old singer/songwriter from southwest Houston, is recognized in the south as one of the hardest-working young artists in the industry.
Recently signed to Capitol Records off the strength off his independent hustle (he sold over 18,000 copies of his R&B mixtape, Street Therapy Vol. 1), industry connections (his entire project is produced by Grammy-winner Bryan-Michael Cox) and smooth-as-silk vocals, his upcoming debut album, Goin’ Hard, features radio-friendly tracks like new single “Beat It Up” with Twista and “She Bad” with Bun B.
Bertell put together an exclusive video for DrJays.com Live to answer our questions about “Beat It Up,” what exactly a “suicide position” is, what we can expect from his upcoming debut album, his perfect look for a spring day and his favorite outfits for ladies.
