Bathing Ape Takes A Page From Chuck Taylor

The Bathing Ape’s new “Ape Sta” shoe looks eerily familiar. But no need to scream swagger-jacker in front of the Ape cage, the brand has been consistently original and fresh since it first hit the scene in 1993. Not to mention it has been at the forefront of ubiquitous dopeness since Pharrell cosigned and made it cool. The sneaker includes a Velcro patch on the inside of the canvas upper, which definitely gives it a unique flair. It comes in four colors and will be available worldwide in BAPE stores. While most scream “no thank you, this is a blatant rip-off,” others say “oh please, BAPE has always been original!” Overpriced Chuck Taylor rip-off or BAPE simply using a classic silhouette and putting a spin on it? You decide.
