“Iron Man” (Un-Lobster) Dunk High Premium
The product name may in fact be the Nike SB Dunk High Premium Un-Lobster but this Dunk is known to sneakerheads as Iron Man. The first Iron Man movie was an amazing comic-book blockbuster that not only marked the full return of Robert Downey Jr. as an actor, but ended up taking home $318,298,180 at the U.S. box office, earning itself the title of 24th highest grossing film of all-time.
Its sequel, Iron Man 2, the most anticipated summer flick, features an all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Gwyneth Paltrow, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johannson and Gary Shandling, so it makes sense that Nike wants to be (unofficially) aligned with iM2. To celebrate the film, Stark Industries are also launching Stark Expo 2010, a large scale technology event, geared up to be unlike anything the world’s ever seen.
As for the sneakers themselves, the classic Dunk high silhouette getting a Wine-red / Red / Yellow / Black make-up, suede accents and a patent-leather swoosh that seems to resemble Tony Stark’s near-indestructible mechanical suit. No word on when these are available but we’ll keep you posted.
