The Stoner edition… Enjoy.

How High

Synopsis: In this hilarious, wacky comedy, two potheads (rap stars Method Man and Redman) smoke some brain-enhancing weed before taking college entrance exams and, to their surprise, score high enough to get into the hallowed halls of Harvard. Once there, however, Method Man and Redman exhaust their supply of wise-weed and are eager to find creative substitutes in order to make the grade.

My Thoughts: When this was released in 2001, I didn’t even know what weed was. Imagine that!

Half Baked

Synopsis: Three ganja-smoking dimwits hatch a plot to raise bail money for their jailed friend by selling dope on the street. But they’d better spring their incarcerated buddy fast, before he ends up as the “boy toy” of a criminal named Nasty Nate! Cameo appearances galore (Steven Wright, Snoop Dogg, Jon Stewart, Janeane Garofalo, Willie Nelson, Stephen Baldwin, Tommy Chong, Bob Saget) are reminiscent of the film heyday of Cheech and Chong.

My Thoughts: CLASSIC. Two words: Dave Chappelle.

Archer: Season 1

Synopsis: Set amid the world of international espionage, this irreverent animated comedy from the FX network revolves around the exploits of smart-mouthed superspy Sterling Archer (voiced by H. Jon Benjamin)—code name: “Duchess.” For Archer, taking on top-secret missions around the world is a breeze compared to dealing with his fellow agents, notably his overbearing mother, Malory (Jessica Walter), and his ex-girlfriend Lana (Aisha Tyler).

My Thoughts: Everyone needs to discover this show.. its like James Bond meets South Park meets Tiger Woods (talking about the sex-addiction part, not golf).

Superbad

Synopsis: 40-Year-Old Virgin collaborators Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen re-team for this partially autobiographical high-school comedy starring Jonah Hill and Michael Cera as best buddies facing separation anxiety as they prepare to go off to college. While attempting to score alcohol for a party with help from their fake ID-toting friend, “McLovin” (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), the guys’ evening takes a turn into chaotic territory.

My Thoughts: This movie had me in tears at some points—over the top raunchiness with loads of adult humor. The Prefect 4:20 ( Reference: April 20—”4/20″ in U.S. date notation—has evolved into a counterculture holiday, where people gather to celebrate and consume cannabis. Some events may have a political nature to them, advocating for the decriminalization of non-medical cannabis in the United States)  movie. Although this is the only Seth Rogen movie that made my list, the man is a genius.

Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle

Synopsis: Sometimes, it takes a strange night to put everything else into focus. And that’s exactly what happens to Harold (John Cho) and his roommate, Kumar (Kal Penn), when they set out to get the best stoner fix money can buy: White Castle hamburgers. Both guys are at a crossroads, about to make major decisions that will affect the course of their lives. Yet they arrive at wisdom by accident as they drive around New Jersey in search of fast food.

My Thoughts: This has to be the best adventure I have ever had the pleasure of viewing. All with the one goal that all of us have at the end of the night: FOOD.
