Meet J. Ferb. The Memphis-born emcee has managed to stray away from the stereotypical Southern rap style and fuse his down-home south accent with east coast lyricism. Dude is definitely a rising talent and recently dropped his latest project, Chase the Dreams, Not the Competition. Here, he describes the mixtape in his own words:

Those of you receiving this are familiar with my work in some shape or fashion. Here’s my gratitude to you and your continued support. Let this music guide your days and spread where you see fit.

There are many things I could say, but I prefer to let the imagery in the artwork and music speaks for itself. run 2 the S U N was a prelude, |Chase the Dreams, Not the Competition| is the feature presentation. This project is 21 years in the making, chronicles of a journey that never seems to end… the pursuit of greatness. Here’s my leap… to infinite and beyond is the only goal.

The kid is dope. It has a blend of jazzy production matched with smooth flow & intelligent lyrics. Not to be missed at all.
