Poll Proves Men Are Bigger Liars Than Women
The word is out and it’s (sort of) good news. As many of us have always claimed, men have been proven to be bigger liars than women and feel less guilty about their lies. According to BBC News, researchers have found that the average British man tells three lies a day, calculating to 1, 092 lies a year. ::Shakes head:: Yes, this is sad.
In the same poll taken by 3, 000 people, studies show that women average about two lies a day and approximately 728 times a year.
The poll was taken by the Science Museum in London, who also discovered that nearly 25% of men are likely to lie to their mothers, while a close 20% of women confess to lying to their moms. Again, sad, but true.
Beyond these shocking facts, 30% of men confirmed their lies do not eat away at their consciences and 84% of people believe in “acceptable” or sometimes “justified” lying.
Katie Maggs, associate medical curator at the Science Museum says,”Lying may seem to be an unavoidable part of human nature but it’s an important part of social interaction.”
Either way, the study was taken in efforts to launch the gallery called, “Who am I?” which makes sense of brain science, genetics and human behavior, and will be displayed in West London.
In the meantime, check out the poll’s results for the “Top 10 Lies” (taken from BBC News):
