Video Alert: Big Boi’s “Shutterbug”

OutKast has consistently stood out in comparison to other rap groups. Everything from their flows to their clothes has been different, to say the least. Even between Big Boi and Andre 3000, their interests and lifestyles are very separate, as they should be. The fact that they’ve been been able to come together and make everything mesh for almost 20 years is incredible.

The funky duo that dropped the diamond-selling SpeakerBoxx/The Love Below and the motion picture Idlewild (accompanied by an album with the same name) has had their audience, which has grown exponentially since the mid-2000s, in heavy anticipation of their latest work. And while Big Boi confirmed that OutKast has something “top secret brewing” for later this year, he also said that his debut solo album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, would drop before their joint venture.

His first single from the aforementioned LP is called “Shutterbug,” and Dr. Jays Live has the brand new video for you guys to check out. It’s pretty crazy. The post-filming graphic enhancements make the visual experience something special, and Big Boi’s presence on camera is always high-energy and exciting.

I can’t help but ask: Can Big Boi be successful without the help of his more popular (and arguably more talented) other half?
