Homeboy Sandman’s Good Sun Debuts June 1
What you are about to witness is one of the most lyrical rappers to ever walk on this earth. Hailing from Queens, credible owner of an Ivy League degree (English major), Homeboy Sandman is ready to debut his first official label album, Good Sun on June 1st . He brings his unique look and incredible flows to this project, which will provoke you into being a fan, if you aren’t already.
You’re probably still wondering why you haven’t heard of Homeboy Sandman in the media already. While some rappers trying to make it rely on get-famous-quick schemes or get involved in petty beef, Sandman just rhymes. While other rappers are boasting about their fictitious lifestyles and their fake jewelry, Sandman rhymes about everyday life. He keeps it clever with his ever changing pace and flow during songs. The context of his bars will make you want to rewind, just to get a realer sense of his punch lines. But enough boasting and bragging about Homeboy Sandman—let’s get down to the music.
One of the singles off the album is entitled “Yeah, But I Can Rhyme Though.” The overall message of this song is simple—although he doesn’t do much clubbing, keeps a limited wardrobe, and avoids the expected “rapper” stuff, he can still rhyme. This dude doesn’t even have a Twitter. Check out the song:

Here’s another track called “Angels With Dirty Faces” that resonates with his underground upbringing.

With cosigns from Hot 97’s own Peter Rosenberg, Homeboy Sandman is definitely sticking around. Homeboy’s previous works—Nourishment (Second Helpings) and There Is No Spoon—are definitely worth a look. Check out “Lightning Bolt,” a single off his previous album Actual Factual Pterodactyl.

Homeboy Sandman is the truth. This album is going to be crazy when it drops. I already pre-ordered my copy. Honestly did not expect Dr. Jays to be up on this, so major props to Ricky G. You might just wake those who have been sleeping on Homeboy Sand. I appreciate you posting this because this will definitely help Homeboy Sandman get some attention because of how many people frequent this site and his skills on the mic are nothing to sneeze at. Also the video for “Lightning Bolt” is hilarious. “Actual Factual Pterodactyl” is a great album worth picking up in addition to “The Good Sun.” Homeboy Sandman will not disappoint. Peace!
Dr. Jays on the Homeboy Sandman?! oh word?! this cat is the truth. His mixtape “There is No Spoon” is crazy…that joint is two years old and can still out talent 99% of the hiphop out now…Good looks on that new album…I’m coppin’!
