Definition Of Fresh: Get Busy In The Kitchen

Knowing how to cook is the freshest talent to have nowadays. I say “talent” because knowing what you’re doing in the kitchen actually takes thought and effort. Sure you can cook that pasta dish, but how about making the sauce from scratch rather than picking up a jar? It’s not as complicated as you think.

You can impress people by having the flyest shirt and shoes on, hair did and all. Why not take your “peacocking” to another level and standing out by firing up some dishes in the kitchen? It can take you far, my dear.

For example, meeting the parents may be a bit awkward when holding a conversation is not your best trait. The best way to divert the 20 uncomfortable questions flying at you is to cook a fancy meal. Of course this will take some practice prior to the occasion but a good meal can make a lasting impression.

Having a couple signature dishes to add to the party is always the freshest weaponry to have. It’s a great way to gain brownie points in many situations. Get focused and pick up a cookbook, or go to one of my favorite websites: www.familyoven.com.

*Below is a picture of a seafood boil night I had at my place recently. I’m not giving out my “secret” recipe, but I will tell you what the core ingredients are. Find a working recipe for you and get creative with it!

  • Crab/shrimp
  • Corn on the cob Kielbasa sausage
  • Red potatoes
  • Onion/green onion
  • Garlic cloves
  • Hot sauce
