Slim Thug Does Not Trust Black Women

Boys and girls, Slim Thug‘s in a bit of a pickle right now after making some wild comments about black people. Feast your peepers on this!

It’s hard to trust a Black woman [sometimes] because a lot of Black women’s mind frame is that the man gotta do everything for her—he gotta pay for this, he gotta pay for that, and if it ain’t about money then a lot of them ain’t f*cking with him. If that’s what you’re here for then I don’t want to be with you.

Most single Black women feel like they don’t want to settle for less. Their standards are too high right now. They have to understand that successful Black men are kind of extinct. We’re important. It’s hard to find us so Black women have to bow down and let it be known that they gotta start working hard; they gotta start cooking and being down for they man more. They can’t just be running around with their head up in the air and passing all of us. [More at Vibe.com]

Whoa! Slim Thugga then went on to state his bi-racial girlfriend is a 5-star-chick because she cooks, cleans, and follows all of his various pimp guidelines. If you try hard enough, you may be able to vaguely understand where the Houston-native is coming from, but his statement is still chock full of ignorance!

Botched grammar aside, the biggest problem here seems to be Slim making a generalized statement about certain black women and completely ignoring the fact it really applies to ladies of all races. There are countless women of different colors that fall in that same category, so why put black girls on blast?

Also, successful black men are not “kind of extinct.” Come on—our president is black! Did someone shove this fool in a time capsule and send him back to slavery? Our country is full of black men doing great things with their lives, along with black women who are just as successful and don’t need a man to take care of them. Snap your fingers anytime, ladies! By the way, “kind of extinct” doesn’t make any sense! Think about it.

Slim Thug dated singer Letoya Luckett at one point, and she’s quite the independent little fox! I’m thinking someone must have made the “Bawse Hogg” quite bitter over the years. He seems to be one of those men who wants a woman to speak only when spoken to, and massage his feet while the NBA Finals are on. Then again, he could just be trying to revive his bland-ass career.

There’s really no use in getting upset at Slim Thug’s comments, though. He doesn’t really serve an extreme purpose and he’s not exactly killing the rap game right now. It’s kind of like if a crackhead told you all black people are lazy. Negro, please!

I think Slim Thug needs to better reflect on himself. If you are in the limelight you will attract groupies. It is up to you to look beyond the good looks and butt to find the type of person you are looking for — but that’s too much work huh. Let it be told the type of women he is looking for probably wouldn’t date him. Further more stop generalizing women this is not a Lifetime Special we are not all angry, bossy or just waiting for a man to save us. Totally disgusted with Thug he is know on the same list as John Mayer — Idiots List.

  • jP10 says:

Whomever wrote this is either a female or want to be one! What he is saying is true. Black women today ARE trip’n. Every woman that’s a 5 thinks she’s a 10. If she got a degree in “anything”, she think she a 10. This thing done got out control right now. Due the math: more women then men + the % of men locked up, on drugs, unemployed, and gay = shortage of Real Good Successful Black Men. Period!

  • zooyork says:

sad but for the most part its true!

  • Newt says:

    What’s the big problem?

Black women are in newspapers, magazines, on radio and TV talking sh#t about Black men every day of the week.

A Black man finally gets an opportunity to offer an opinion about Black women and the world goes crazy.

    Go figure. . .

  • Jay says:

He shouldn’t be making a false blanket statement about black women…this happens in all races where some women look for a man to provide everything

  • Slim Who? says:

Damn, did he just say that “it’s hard to trust a Black woman” and “successful Black men are kind of extinct”? Wow…. And you guys are accepting this as the truth?….So I guess white men and white women are just the way to go from here on out. This dude just pretty much said that black women are gold diggers and black men aren’t shit. Should we all just wipe ourselves off the planet then? People kill me with this. If I didn’t come from successful black parents I might be foolish enough to take this ignorance seriously.

  • Nelison says:

Dear Slim Thug (And those that think like him):

I’m not going to soften the blow of my letter by hurling witty insults at you or by presenting this letter in an indignant manner because I want the full weight of what I have to say to be felt; not just heard or read but felt. The Open Season that’s been going on against Black Women since the beginning of 2010 is over. No longer will she be the media’s doormat. It’s time that you and the people that think like you open your eyes to realize that the problem isn’t Black Women. I don’t want this to be about pointing fingers or placing blame; however the Black Woman is the last person that should be talked about when it comes to people getting their act together. For generations, Black Women have done nothing but get their act together. It’s time that the rest of us catch up.

The media is quick to point out how single the Black Woman is. They are quick to tell you that 70% of Black Women have never been married or will never be married. She can’t find a man. Her standards are too high. She’s too strong willed, too aggressive. She needs to tone it down a notch. But all of that is wrong, maybe the Black Woman doesn’t need to tone it down a notch, maybe everyone else needs to raise it up a notch. Rather than telling her to descend, maybe we should concentrate on ascending and reaching higher levels. Higher levels of moral integrity, higher levels of education, higher levels of commitment, higher levels of testicular fortitude; maybe it’s time we rise to the level of the Black Woman rather than trying to lower her down to our level of mediocrity.

In that letter, it was said that black women need to learn how to have their man’s back. But over the past 200 plus years in this country, whom more than the Black Woman has been a bigger supporter, nurturer and caretaker of Black Men than Black Women? When we have nothing, they are there. When we gain a few dollars to fold together, they’re there making sure the books are right. The Black Woman hasn’t turned her back on us, if anything; we’ve turned our back on them. An unfair representation was given of Black Women in that article because if we check the numbers, we’ll see that in higher numbers than Black Men, Black women are graduating from college, owning homes, owning small business, having better credit scores and climbing the corporate ladder. Now, if you don’t know any of these Black Women, maybe you should step outside of your comfort zone and look at the world a little differently. I will gladly introduce you to Black Women that are doing their thing, not waiting for a handout of some rapper or anyone else.

The media is doing an excellent job of tearing down the Black Woman with the help of the Black Man; all while trying to earn her Black Dollars. It makes me wonder why we’ve never heard the other side of the argument, why we’ve never read an interview with a man that adores Black Women. That’s not to say that the Black Woman isn’t without fault because no one is perfect, however, while we’re all debating about what’s wrong with the Black Woman; she has her act together a little more than the rest of us right now.

Slim thug is looking for attention.. and black women seem to be the easiest target these days!
And I hope all the black men who agree with him realize that he’s not only insulting black women but black men and white women as well…
He’s basically saying black men cannot be successful
He’s also insluting white women making them seem like push overs, and they’d do anything thing for their man….
funny gary coleman married a white woman and look where that got him… hmmmm

  • Kid Fury says:

    @jP10

I’m a man and I have no interest in being anything other than that. However, I know ignorance when I see it. I don’t know what kind of black women you and/or Slim Thug surround yourselves with, but the black women I know do for themselves.

I said I can understand where he is coming from, but he worded this shit horribly and made himself sound like an idiot. Niggas are not the 2010 Census, so nobody knows what percentage of black women are doing what, or that “most” black women are a certain way. That’s fucking retarded.

  • gbw says:

As a good black woman, w/a good black man, slim’s comments are very sad, and his praisers are even worse. It’s amazing to me how we a blacks claim whites tear us down, but we’re doing most of the work. It’s obvious that Slim has only dated these kind of women b/c that’s all he can get. It drives me crazy how women can’t judge all men by the actions of one, but men can make swiping generalzations about all black women. Brothers please note, Becky does not have your back. When’s the last time you’ve seen a “classy” (meaning not trash) white women date a broke black man? U think the Kardashian sisters would date a slim thug? A sanitation worker? Hell naw!! It’s o.k. for them to want a successful man that they don’t have to support, but black women should just take whatever is thrown at them. Please now that if you do lose your job and Becky has to carry the burden, she’s definately screwing your brother at the same time.
As stated, I have a good black man. I am successful, and i have supported him when he was down. I cook, clean, and take care of him in the bedroom b/c he DESERVES it. BLACK MEN, YOU’LL BE TREATED LIKE KINGS WHEN YOU TREAT US LIKE QUEENS!! I wonder if Slim thinks this about his mom…I mean, she is a black woman right.

@JP10, you sound just like a man that doesn’t have a damn degree…please keep your mouth shut.
@Newt, just like women get backlash, this is his.
@Anyone else agreeing w/Slim, step your game up and start talking to REAL sisters, and your opinion will change. Stop hating us for your short comings!!!!

  • Willie B says:

where im from all women act like this

Doesn’t oprah and every other black female show host give her 2 cents about black men, so why can’t a black man throw an opinion or 2 back?

slim thugs career is not bland he writes good music but then again what would you know you probably have your head up the radio’s ass, just because he’s not making dances, club songs, and pretty boy swag bull*hit doesnt mean his career is going down hill

  • kwame says:

    Dear Nelison,

Please help me to see your opinion more clearly and cite some sources. I’m not saying that I agree with Slim Thug or his opinions, but this whole “discussion” is basically amounting to he-said-she-said hearsay. If people would stop talking about in sweeping generalizations and blanket statements then maybe we would be able to have a round table and work towards a solution to this problem.

To everybody getting so worked up over Slim Thug’s comments: why do you care so much? When was the last time Slim Thug was relevant in hip hop or music or had his opinion on just about anything matter? As it’s been pointed out earlier, he had the opportunity for some face time which he’s been starved for so he went and said something stupid. No real big deal, just keep it moving.

Let’s start getting some empirical facts down and then we can sort through this.

  • lol was i the only one who found the title hilarious

  • shay says:

people/ladies really have to understand his lifestyle. example My husband was a pimp and his philosophy was if it aint white it aint right okay well I am 100% black and how I became is wife is another story but quickly I will say I happened to be the last one standing I stayed down for mine. So I understand what he may be saying but you can not categorize that as a black woman issue. That is a woman issue period. What I hear from this is that black women should not so much settle but be go getters in life period and I will agree with him in that area it took my husband to actually sit me down and say look you have to stop being content with where you are and what you do if you go to law school do you just want to be a lawyer hell no continue to reach to the highest of the high. I do believe it is okay to only be attacted to guys who have something going on only because you should also have something going on and you all are going to work it out and build and grow together. My husband is doing a fed bid and lost everything he had to a white lady who he so called trusted but guess what as a black woman I am proving these statements wrong I could have left and never talked to him again but guess what that was not an option for me I love him for him not for his dumb decisions so Im staying down and holding it down and guess what all that the white girl got him for his black WIFE is going to replenish! now you tell me who’s down!

  • B says:

LOL, who died and made this thing called Slim Thug an authority on relationships? And from his appearance I’m about 100% sure his mother is also a black woman, so does she fall into this catagory?

  • this is really great articles. i like this blog

  • this is a great articles , i love it , will follow your blogs all the time, thanks

  • The-Realist says:

HA!! Who wants to even give black women a chance even if she is still single!?!? Hey, fellas, I’m tired of screaming this, so its gonna be the last time. Take it from an old soldier. From the military, to the streets to the corporate boardrooms, black females today are like computer viruses with multiple Trojan horse and worm applications, they are programmed to destroy, even if they profess to desire a “good” black man.
Stop putting all these frigging conditions on your acceptance of them. “Unless” “Until” “When” You dudes have got me F’D up with that line of logic. Don’t you get it?!? Black females don’t need you, and they don’t want to see you surpass them in any field of endeavor!!! Okay!?! An empowered black man/men for them is like a target package for a cluster bomb, she may instinctively seek you out, but it is NOT to build you up,
it is to BLOW YOU OFF OF THE MAP!!! All over these threads, guys keep sending half-hearted love letters to these black girl bombs, before they go off, like you can disarm and defuse them with sad, soulful confessions of unrequited love or rejection as hard-pecker teenagers, or high school Romeos. Pathetic.
No matter what your situation is right now, realize one thing, THESE BITCHES DO NOT RESPECT YOU. That is the real foundation for any hope of a relationship. What does a black bitch really want from you today? To be a drone, a servant,
or a supplier, but all for her needs, and her needs alone. That isn’t love, that’s usury, and you need to wake up to that reality. Stop being the slave/buck and make yourself into a man for the 21st century, that’s the thing you should be concentrating on!! Upgrade!! Only when you have punched through all of the shit that America hands you as a black man, and gained respect, recognition and fear as a force to be reckoned with, will your true helpmate emerge!!! Easy?? NOT AT ALL!! Worth it?!? NO QUESTION!!!
STOP strumming your guitar and singing your lyrics to her dude, you’re only a source of amusement.STAND UP and be a real man!! When you do that, black broads fall back and fall off like a scab on an old wound. I’ve said enough. There it is.
