Christian Rich’s “The Decadence” EP
I needn’t say too much about Christian Rich because our “Artist Spotlight” with them from last week covers pretty much everything you should know regarding this talented electro/pop duo hailing from Chicago (by way of Nigeria!). Their heavily anticipated mixtape, The Decadence, has finally dropped, and with the manpower of Clinton Sparks, Mick Boogie, and BBC/Ice Cream (not to mention N*E*R*D‘s Shae Haley as manager), this project should permeate through everybody’s iTunes and iPod and remain there until they release more. Though a bunch of the jams are up to two years old (a slight letdown to CR fans who have been there since they first started hitting the blogs), it’s a great place to start if this is your first introduction to their sound, and perfect for our Eclecticut Wednesday. Containing contributions from Pharrell Williams, Pusha T (of the Clipse), Shanell (of Young Money), Y-O (of U-N-I), Bjorn (from Peter Bjorn and John), DJ Benzi and Dstar. Talk about star power. Here’s a sample of what to expect.
