VH1′s Behind The Music: Eve (Video)
Where oh where has Eve been? It wasn’t too long ago the self-proclaimed “pitbull in a skirt” looked to be hip-hop’s next big female emcee as a member of the Ruff Ryders camp. Her 1999 debut album Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders’ First Lady would become the second hip-hop album by a women that entered the Billboard 200 at number one and was critically hailed as Eve showcased lyrical prowess that separated her from the hypersexual female rappers littering the industry.
By the time the follow-up album Scorpion released in 2001, Eve was well on her way to becoming a pop success. Her rough edges began to smooth out and her single with Gwen Stefani “Let Me Blow Your Mind” earned her a Grammy. But with all of her success, Eve was finding a new home as an actress. After her UPN sitcom Eve lasted from 2003–2006, the affects from being bit by the acting bug would be long term. Her music career began to suffer while her acting career blossomed. Her 2002 album Eve-Olution saw only mild success and we haven’t heard much from Eve since.
But don’t let me tell you about Eve’s career. VH1′s Behind The Music series featured Eve discussing everything from her music career to some personal issues she elaborates on in depth for the first time, and finally reveals she is ready to get back in the music game. Check out the video.
What happened to eve is that she went hollyweird. She is too busy fvcking rich foreign ment and getting DUIs.
She wanted to be an actress, & that was cool because I watched her show.
Then she wanted to be a designer, I never bougth Fetish bc it is more overpriced s*t.
I still lover her song & music vif “Love Is Blind”. It is my fav by her.
I love her music.
You can tell she still has something good to offer. She’s still young, and seems more at peace with whose she’s becoming.
Eve and Stevie J were the cutest couple of 2000-2001
