Mary J. Blige & Catherine Malandrino Show For FFAWN

Me (EMitts), Maria Mayoralgo (Fader magazine), Mary J. Blige and Yoshabelle Desulme.

This week I attended the Mary J. Blige and fashion designer Catherine Malandrino‘s runway show at the MoMa in New York City. The event showcased 25 pieces from a new Blige and Malandrino collaboration. Elle Magazine put on the event and proceeds from the $1000-a-piece ticket went to raise money for Steve Stoute and Mary J. Blige’s non-profit Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN). The event will help cover college tuition costs for thirty graduates at the Women’s Academy of Excellence in the Bronx.

Before the fashion show started there was a reception in the MoMa courtyard.

Celebrity DJ DJ Kiss provided the tunes for the crowd.

Elle‘s Fashion News Director Anne Slowey, Maria and myself

Sunglasses designer duo Coco & Breezy were in the house.

Celebrity stylist June Ambrose and fashionable guests.

Trendy Elle staffers.

We ran into celebrity DJ, lawyer, entrepreneur and super-woman of Good Girl PR, DJ Nickie:

I was lucky to get a seat in the first row. DJ Nickie’s company put together the fabulous gift bags that contained products from event sponsors Belvedere, John Frida, Elle and a few other goodies. My seat neighbor posed with a product:
