Why Did Beanie Sigel Threaten To Smack Drake?

You ever watch the movie where the nerd gets the cheerleader and the dumb jock goes crazy and tries to beat up the goofy kid with the glasses that stole his girl? That’s pretty much how Beanie Sigel‘s recent video rant where he threatened to smack Drake is playing out. Why exactly is Beans ready to slap Drizzy? I’m not quite sure but it appears to be something along the lines of the “Broad Street Bully” being a man scorned and ready to fight for the love friend he lost.

It’s quite silly if you think about it. Beans is still seething at Jay-Z from issues stemming back to when Hov refused to be responsible for Sigel’s whereabouts during court proceedings while Beans was incarcerated on weapon charges, which caused Sigel’s bail to be denied. From that point, Jay distanced himself from the Philly rapper and pressed on with his personal career while leaving Beans to fend for himself.

With Beans considering himself hung out to dry by his former mentor and blocked from making a move to 50 Cent’s G-Unit records, he has decided to lash out towards Jay and everyone around him. Rather than discuss why Beans needs to suck it up and move on with life instead of wasting time trying to show Jay “love” with a variety of disses, it is imperative to point out that threatening the new kid on the block with a slap sounds very desperate for an artist looking to get his mojo back in the industry.

It’s painfully obvious that Sigel desires attention and is missing the relationship with Jay-Z. Being left out on his own, he just doesn’t know what to do with himself other than lash out at the man who helped him become a well known name in hip-hop. Rather than move on with his life and attempt to salvage what’s left of his career, Beans has decided to play the role of the individual who ended up with the short end when the relationship fell apart. He’s like the girlfriend who wants to fight any woman that is around her ex-boyfriends. They don’t have anything to do with why your relationship didn’t pan out.

Maybe it isn’t Jay-Z, Drake and Memphis Bleek who are the problem. Maybe it is Beanie Sigel who has the problem. As someone who has some very personal issues with Jay-Z, perhaps he should take them up with Hov outside of the public eye or just drop it and allow life to go on. Dragging Drake into this mess is a feeble attempt at attention. And quite honestly, what good what it do for Beans if he did attack Drake? It’s just silly and lame.

But unfortunately, some might say that’s where hip-hop has gone these days. Taking shots at the hot rapper for no other reason than to get yourself some attention has always been the ultimate desperation heave when your career is going down the toilet.

Ask Lil Kim.
