Lynette Taylor, wife of embattled former NFL star Lawrence Taylor, took to the airwaves Thursday night to vent her frustrations with the handling of her husband’s case by police, as well as the media. Of course, we have the video if you missed it.

Mrs. Taylor expressed similar sentiments to TMZ earlier this summer, noting the arrest came just days after a documentary she says made Taylor out to be a monster aired on A&E. She believes he has been set up and the entire incident was an extortion plot gone wrong.

The way she’s chosen to handle her predicament is quite a turn from what normally occurs during similar adversity in high-profile relationships. While we’ve seen countless marriages end due to these types of circumstances (á la Tiger Woods) and have seen several women stand silently beside their husbands (á la Kobe Bryant), we very rarely see a wife stand up as furiously as Mrs. Taylor did on CNN—even after she had been scheduled to do the interview in May but canceled at the time. Of course, the trust that she shows in her husband leaves us all with one question: Does he deserve it?

Mrs. Taylor raised quite a few interesting questions during her brief interview. How did the young lady’s uncle know exactly where to find her if she truly was a runaway from another state? If she lied to Lawrence Taylor, how do the police know that she hasn’t lied to them?

Although Lynette is Taylor’s third wife, he seems to have found one who really will love him for better or for worse. However, if it turns out he has lied to her, prison might turn out to be the safest place for him to go—and the least of his worries.
