Back in the Spring and Summer of ’90, or maybe ’89, Converse Skidgrips were getting rocked heavy in the streets of NYC—or, at least as far as I could see in The Bronx. Anyway, Nom de Guerre has teamed with Converse to drop the First String Skidgrip.
These joints are pretty no frills—black upper, tan soles and liner, metal eyelets—but the Nom de Guerre brand will surely add a pair of these to a good amount of people’s wish lists. Definitely an alternate choice if you’re not trying to rock ubiquitous Vans or Pro-Keds. Available July 30. Worthy?
