I made it my goal this summer to make the youth know that they can express themselves through clothing and that the baggy “thug” look is no longer the “cool” thing to wear. This summer I started wearing more clothing and hats that had bold statements on them and stood out in a crowd. I wanted the youth to know that you can express yourself with clothing instead of sex, drugs, and crimes. I started wearing a lot of creative reaction shoes, crooks and castles, sneaktip, and 10.deep clothing, something that you cannot find in an ordinary mall. I have gotten great responses and a countless amount of people come up to me asking where I got my jacket, pants, shoes, hats, etc. In contrast to the past, the youth can now be fashionable and stand out in a crowd by their clothing, in a positive way.

Honestly, I haven’t really been following any trends… Not really into all of that.

Not trying to be a puppet or at the very least another uniform person.

  • keynes ofume says:

The always perfect fashion trend for the summer that everyone should be wearing and address that baggy pants are for thugs that’s in the fashion rule books that’s a no no in this heat you must be crazy.

But please take notes on what I wore this summer so you don’t make the same mistake next year so you style on this.

Which I must say this summer was awesomee what I wore this year was some unique picked out cargo pants with, belt which are affordable not all out expensive, wore some white fitted T’s. And wore some high top nike shoes, low top nike shoes. And switched with some vans love them.

And can’t forget wore some fresh new sebago shoes i love them its undisputed comfort and design looks so handsome if you haven’t heard of it go do your research now.

    “wear your fashion individually”

Moving forward I have 2 pairs of sebago shoes I wear them on a outting in the park at times walk in the beach. And wore some stunna shades and some G-shocks.

Hopefully I win this cause I got some fashion ideas for the fall/winter 2010 with this outfit. The fabric of the jacket is dope I must have too say and its good you guys brought back this great post :)

  • Chris says:

They say as you get older your fashion changes dramatically. I remember when I was in my teens, I am now 20… Everyone, and I do mean everyone liked their clothes big and baggy. But as you get older you find that you do not want to be like everyone else and you go out and search for your own unique fashion style. Since I am getting older and am trying to find my sense of self, I adopted a new clothing style which I amusingly call Tight and Trendy. I have been wearing a lot of tight v-neck type shirts and I have been buying a lot of skinny and straight jeans from this website. Needless to say I am proud of my new look and I think it really brings out the adult in me, I have also been getting more glances from my female aquaintances. So after adopting my new Tight and Trendy fashion style this summer, I will say that my new style is a keeper.

  • Daurice says:

I tried the fitted look. My jeans wasn’t baggy nor skinny they just fit comfortably. I wore boat shoes and a button up. I stepped out of my comfort zone which is my Marine Camies or coveralls. Salute to my fellow Marines.

  • My My says:

For me, it was ripped jeans. I bought a few pairs of capris, and skinny jeans in denim, black, and white. I like them because I’m small framed, it adds definition to my outfit. For my boyfriend, I have gotten him some of the jeans that have more of a straight fit. I think that’s really hot, it shows him on his GROWN MAN business. But never ever skinny jeans for a guy! YUCK

  • Alexis Daniel says:

One new trend I tried is the urban look as well as the rocker look. I have been all over the internet and looking in magazines on how to complete these looks. I also began to wear different brands. It is great to try new things.

  • Janay says:

O’ yes, I have tried many even though you asked about one lol (i think). I have tried the tribal patterned/mosaic print trend and I love it.
I am keepin it funky with the summer trends and have tried the blossoms and jumpsuit garments also.
These summer trends are wats good and I’m happy that workin two jobs has allowed me to keep up!! :)

  • steph says:

One of the new things I’ve tried out this summer is including a rash guard with my swimwear. Its a great way to still look good at the beach even if your tan isn’t in order.

  • josh says:

i use to wear skinny jeans with a nice white tee,but im trying to change my style so now im looking for more of the grown man look.skinny jeans are nice but i got tired of having the same style as other people. this year im trying to stand out from other people’s fashion sense.

  • Kevin says:

The summer trend that I have hopped on this summer that I have been fighting for forever (it seems) is wearing sandals and flip-flops. I’m just not the type of guy to let everybody see my naked feet, lol! But it has been SO freakin hot and humid this summer, and seems like my laundry room is eating all of my socks. With the busy schedule that I keep, I’m usually stuck hunting for some socks to throw on with some fresh sneaks about 5 or ten minutes before I have to be somewhere! But about a month ago I just started to chuck on the sandals or flip flops and now I’m extremely comfortable with it. It took a while at first to get used to it, and of course I gotta keep a pedicure cuz I can’t scare peeps with mangy toenails, lol! But I realize it saves time, energy (hunting for socks), and keeps my kicks lookin fresher since they are stayin in the box longer this season! Fellas its alright to let the dogs breath every once and a while.

I’m always trying new things in fashion and one I’ve recently tried, actually a couple of weeks ago is the men’s layered tank tops with a nice pair of cargo shorts, some ray bans, and nike dunks and I received a few compliments so I know I did somethin right lol.

  • rod says:

And I don’t mean to comment twice, but I’ve also started to steer away from popular name brand clothes, I’m really lovin the graphic tees, tanks, and cardigans, wovens etc. I agree with everybody about the baggy style not a good look.

  • plndr codes says:

I tried the skinny jean shorts thing. Probably not going to stick with it though – not enough air circulation going on and it’s been over 90 degrees like the whole summer.

  • isabelle O says:

“What is one new trend that you tried out this summer?”

I started wearing suits at more casual places like school, and now i own “Plimsolls”.

  • vS_NYCE says:

I like wearing baggy jeans that’s my main style, wearing anything but slacks or khakis around my waist makes me feel uncomfterble. I been wearing slacks when I go out. I wear them with a tucked in dress shirt leaving two buttons at the top open with a tank-top,T,or bare chest. I must say i’m feelin that style at night though only on saturdays. In hollywood the females love that so its something I can definatley get used to.
