The Intermezzo and FFaNY trade shows were in NYC this week, debuting the best in women’s contemporary holiday 2010/spring 2011 apparel collections and footwear.

Peep highlights from Intermezzo, below, including a special DC Comics x nOir jewelry collection, adorable plastic shoes by Melissa and much more:

A trend on fire for spring 2011: Anoraks in pop colors. These vivid styles are by Ali Ro.

m2f displayed super soft vintage-colored denim, which happens to be eco-friendly, too! The jeans are made with certified green yarn and Eco Smart Clear H2O Colors.

Whoever thought plastic shoes could be so interesting? Melissa shoes are a brand from Brazil that’s taking plastic to new heights in heels, flip flops and children’s shoes. Her collaboration with Vivienne Westwood is available for sale on DJPremium.com.

Recently, the designer launched Mel, which feature Melissa’s fun designs and fantastic quality, but at a lower price point. The plastic in all Mel and Melissa shoes is made of 99.99% recycled-waste materials. While it may sound uncomfortable to rock plastic shoes, they’re actually made with breathable, super comfortable interiors.

Expect Mel shoes to launch on DrJays.com soon!

I know there have to be other grown Hello Kitty fans out there like myself.

Well ladies, you can now look forward to a more luxurious take on the famous Sanrio character. Hello Kitty by Victoria Casals Couture will soon be available on DrJays.com.

I was already a huge fan of nOir jewelry, being that I love innovative, statement making jewelry, but their special collaboration with DC Comics was off the hook! EMitts is modeling the “Gotham City” ring above.

Rihanna has worn this spiky piece on the red carpet. Lucky she didn’t take a few eyes out with it!

For all those Wonder Women out there…

We had to check out Android watches, after we spotted the striking ceramic style above on a young lady in the lobby of the show. What do you think—a good look for DJPremium.com perhaps?

Notable trends in apparel were structured dresses and tops, skinny cargo pants, and variations of tie dye. Flashy hardware is still prominent in everything from evening dresses to blazers, as Iron confirms below:

Platform heels continue to be prominent going into spring 2011.

Rock & Republic

Fetish-inspired heels scream sex appeal, and are big winners for fall 2010 and spring 2011.

Cork will be seen in everything from platform heels to men’s footwear. Check out an extreme example above—a cork men’s dress shoe by Rock & Republic.

G-Star

You can expect to see chambray and denim in both men’s and women’s footwear.
