DRAH-MA! On Monday, Fantasia Barrino was rushed to a Charlotte, NC hospital after suffering from an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid. Authorities of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have classified the incident as a suicide attempt. Fortunately, according to Fantasia’s manager Brian Dickens, the “American Idol” alum is expected to make a full recovery:

“Her injuries are not life threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time. Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon.”

In the same statement, Dickens goes on to explain the stress caused by the fallout from the R&B singer’s relationship with Antwaun Cook is to blame for Monday’s incident.

Just in case you haven’t been following this story, Cook was married at the start of his relationship with Fantasia, and in recently filed divorce papers, his wife cites the illicit relationship as the cause of the breakdown of their marriage. Reportedly, the divorce papers also point to the existence of a sex tape starring Cook and Fantasia. Of the allegations listed in the divorce filing, Dickens described Fantasia as “heartbroken and is sorry for any pain she may have caused. Yesterday she was totally overwhelmed with the lawsuit and the media attention.”

Usually this is where I throw in one of my smart a** comments, but there’s nothing funny about suicide. Get well soon Fanny, and next time, try to find a man that isn’t married with two kids.
