Is K. Michelle Bringing Real R&B Back?

She’s been called Keyshia Cole‘s heir apparent, but Memphis’s K. Michelle (seen above in DrJays.com’s Summer Sensations 2010 campaign) is making moves to be R&B’s new super-talented, around-the-way-girl in her own right.
Like most worthy artists, K’s industry grind has been a slow and steady one. The video for her new single “I Just Can’t Do This” (currently sitting at #60 on the Billboard charts) premiered yesterday as 106 & Park‘s “New Joint Of The Day”—check it out:
While we’re loving the track, we can’t help but think K’s super strong vocals need a much better showcase. Check out her incredible a cappella version of “Where They Do That At” recorded just under a year ago:

Yep, she is definately bringing REAL R&B music back. Every song she releases is great. She has a very soulful and powerful voice.Let’s face it the girl can flat out sang and can sang live like no other in the game today. YEP I SAID IT!!!! Not to knock on anyone else in the game but, this girl is really bringing it. K Michelle is K Michelle not keyshia cole. They don’t look alike and they definately don’t sound alike. The only comparisons that should be made is the fact that they sing. A friend put me on to K michelle’s music about a year and a half ago glad to see she is finally being spotlighted for her vocals like she should have been a long time ago. The girl is bad…………shes next to blow up im so happy for her and for R & B too.
Can someone cut Mary J. a damn check already? All these ‘hood R&B’ chicks are on her Blueprint. I like her voice, but I’ve seen it all before and Keyshia was better at it. We’ll see though.

Please let these singers be individuals they all have their own paths, struggles, pains, ups and downs. Let them each have a voice please stop lumping them all together in a box. It’s a shame that we keep doing that. No one owns rnb soul music if we start cutting checks based on that truth be told Mary J blige would have to cut quite a few checks herself lol………. NO Hate for mary j I love her and her music JUST a FACT. I like all three ladies music and I will continue to support them all. Kmichelle is going to go very, very far and it will be because of her blessings from God not man. On my way to grab my ipod and listen to mary, k michelle and ms keyshia.

This woman can sing but the song is weak all Keyshia Cole songs have a real meaning they touch people heart and thats what i call real R&B . . .
K. Michelle can sing and I love Can’t do this, but when I hear that song, it just makes me miss Keyshia. I do like K. Michelle, but I like Keyshia a lot better.Keyshia is not the world’s greatest singer, but she emotes so well and I love her tone. That’s what make Keyshia so special. I don’t see how K. is bringing back real R&B when Mary, Keyshia and Alicia have been holding Real R&B down all by them selves for the last few years now.lol
I dont know why yall comparing K Michelle and Keyshia Cole together. The only reason why these blogg sites saying Keyshia and K Michelle got beef is because they reading these negative comments that people put on the internet about them. Its not beef between them its beef between people opinions. If some likes K Michelle better than keyshia that is cus they like her. If someone likes Kesyhia better than K Michelle same thing goes I am a big K Michelle fan. But I like Keyshia also. They both can sing. I also think that yall comparing them is because keyshia fans is mad that someone else is getting into the spotlight. Keyshia Cole is not the only singer in the industry. K Michelle music is real and Keyshia Cole music is real. One thing I got to say is that people need to stop being disrespectful towards them.
