Should Lindsay Lohan Be The New Face Of Ecko?
Two DUIs, multiple rehab stints and a variety of other legal and personal woes later, Lindsay Lohan is selected as the new face of Marc Ecko‘s Cut & Sew Collection.

Lindsay Lohan and R2-D2, the robotic star of “Star Wars,” have more in common than one would think. At least, they do if you’re Marc Ecko. The designer turned to both the Hollywood starlet and the sci-fi character for the inspiration behind his most recent ad campaign, which relies on new uses of multimedia and print advertisements. Blending technology inspired by R2-D2’s ability to project holograms, Ecko has developed a fall promotion that features a 3-D Lohan acting out skits shot by Markus Klinko and Indrani of Bravo’s Double Exposure.
Marc defends his choice of Lindsay as his “muse,” stating that many fashion brands have successfully used controversial celebrities in the past.
To all the young Ecko fans out there—is this sending out the wrong message? The more Lindsay defies the law and indulges in drama, the more she seems to be celebrated.
What about Marc Ecko—is this a good look for him and his brand, or is it a shameless cry for attention? In terms of Lindsay’s image, we wonder if it’s a wise decision to be showing skin in a major ad campaign, so soon after serving jail/rehab time. You would think she should chill out for a while…
“A muse has the ability to inspire the artist to create in ways they wouldn’t otherwise contemplate,” said Marc in a statement to JustJared.com. “For better, or worse, they make you feel something, emotionally. I cast Lindsay because people are fascinated with her—they can either feel good or bad things, but they are feeling some type of emotion. She’s a pop culture icon.”
