As we previously told you, Fantasia Barrino was rushed to the hospital on Monday after overdosing on aspirin and a sleep aid, and now rumors about why the R&B diva attempted to take her own life are beginning to circulate. Reportedly, Fanny was pushed over the edge after her married beau, Antwaun Cook, dumped her. An insider tells RadarOnline.com that Cook “was fed-up with all the drama and called the relationship off with Fantasia. She begged him not to leave her but he wouldn’t listen.”

With all due respect to the sensitivity of this situation, what the hell did Fanny expect from a man who would abandon his family without breaking a sweat? If he could leave his wife and kids as easily as he did, why the hell did she think things would be any better with her? SMH!

The insider went on to describe the inner turmoil leading to Fantasia’s suicide attempt:

“Fantasia was still devastated because she believed they had a future together. She was also stressed out about the complaint filed by his wife.”

Allegedly, Fantasia had also engaged in a vicious verbal back-and-forth with Cook’s wife, Paula:

“Fantasia had gotten herself involved in a war of words with Paula Cook over him and there were several nasty phone calls between the two women.”

From what I hear, Paula is a very educated woman who’s impacting lives as a high school teacher back in my home state of North Carolina. SMH, two successful women fighting over a T-Mobile store employee. Now I know how steep the charges can get for cell-phone service, but that friends-and-family discount couldn’t have been all that!
