Fantasia And Antwuan Cook Called Out For Their “Brazen Behavior”

As we previously told you, a mere day or so after Fantasia Barrino was released from the hospital following an alleged suicide attempt, the singer was photographed meeting up with the man at the center of all the drama, her married boy toy Antwuan Cook. In a response issued to People.com, the attorney for Cook’s soon to be ex-wife, Paula, is calling the duo out for their “brazen behavior”:

“She is saddened and disheartened by the end of her marriage. She’s embarrassed and humiliated and distressed by the lack of respect that was shown for her marriage by Ms. Barrino.”

“(The meeting between Fantasia and Cook is) that kind of brazen behavior that Mrs. Cook has had to endure for the last 11 months, until June of this year. This is something that has caused her emotional distress, pain, and anguish.”

“She wanted nothing more than to have a happy family with her husband and her children. And she’s not been able to do that. The only mistake she made was marrying a man who Ms. Barrino felt like she was entitled to have. She is having to defend her marriage, when she didn’t ask for this.”

But wait, it gets even better. In defense of her client, Fantasia’s attorney, Gena Morris, is shifting the blame for the very public way this mess is playing out to Paula Cook:

“Paula Cook intentionally chose to turn her private legal matter into a public spectacle by pleading in a tabloid manner. None of the allegations against Fantasia were factually necessary to support Mrs. Cook’s claims against Mr. Cook. Mrs. Cook could have elected to resolve her case out of the public eye.”

Speaking from a legal perspective (I knew my law degree would come in handy one day), Fanny’s lawyer is partly correct in her statement, but placing any kind of blame for this messy situation on the wife isn’t going to do anything for her client in the court of public opinion. For that matter, neither is filming the meeting with Cook for her VH1 reality show, but ever since Fanny had this man’s name tattooed to her shoulder, nothing surprises me anymore.

Kinda shocks me how everything is Fanny’s or the Wife’s blame. What about the guy who leaves his wife and kid?? Funny how the blame always goes to the person with the money.

Just like nobody ever talks about the woman Tiger Woods slept with, all the hoes knew he was married, the throwin it at him, but nobody cares about them.

Fantasia is still in a position to be sued for alienation of affection by Antwaun Cook’s wife.

If Fantasia has to hand over a sizeable chunk of her assets to Paula Cook, will Antwaun still want her then? Or will he go back to his wife?

How did Fantasia get into this predicament, anyway?

Did Antwaun and his wife set Fantasia up?

Is Antwaun only interested in Fantasia for what he can get?

Or is the whole suicide – divorce – lawsuit scenario just a publicity ploy to promote Fantasia’s new album, which debuts this month?

Fantasia may be back with Antwaun Cook, but the affair could still end up costing her everything she owns. Even if Antwaun marries Fantasia, it does not exempt her from being sued for alienation of affection by Antwaun’s wife.
