The Walking Dead Comic Is Coming To Life
This October, the zombie survival comic The Walking Dead will jump off the pages of the popular Image comic and come to life on AMC. For those not familiar, The Walking Dead is about Rick Grimes, a police officer from Kentucky who ends up in a coma after being shot in a police firefight. Once he awakens, he finds out that the world around him has been turned upside down and is overrun by zombies. With no clue where his family and friends have gone, Grimes sets out to find his wife and son and band together with other survivors who have become the minority in this new world.
As a reader of the comic, I’m hoping that the TV series (starring Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes) stays true to the comic. It certainly isn’t your run-of-the-mill zombie story and has a tremendous amount of depth to go along with excellent dialog and very compelling side stories regarding each of the survivors. Six episodes have been ordered and hopefully we’ll see the entire story play out on television.
