Too bad iPhones, iTouches and iPads wouldn’t fly as scientific calculators in school, otherwise it would just be too easy. Converting units doesn’t necessarily stay within the school walls though; eventually you’ll need to know these things for real life situations like, “how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon? How many megabytes are in a gigabyte? What is 20 degrees Celsius in Fahrenheit? Or even, how many light-years are in a parsecs? Things of that nature.

For students and non-students alike, there’s a useful app for us: Convert Units. Thanks to Free The Apps, it’s free! It has a simple interface with hundreds of unit conversions.
