Floyd Mayweather Jr. Has Had The Worst Weeks Ever
You may not be able to tell right off the bat, but this is Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s mugshot photo after being arrested, booked and later released on grand larceny charges stemming from his baby mama, Josie Harris, calling the police on a domestic violence accusation. Mayweather is flashing a million dollar smile, but his head must be spinning after what’s transpired the past couple of weeks.
About two weeks ago, Mayweather was lambasted by journalists, boxing fans and even those who don’t care about boxing for his homophobic and racist tinged Ustream video where he said some very unflattering things about Manny Pacquiao. With Pacquiao being the fighter many say Mayweather won’t fight, “Money” opted to verbally spar with Pacquiao, delivering jabs that totally crossed a line no fighter—or individual for that matter—should cross. He apologized, but has seen his stock with what’s left of his fan base drop. His apology seemed hollow and it certainly didn’t help the situation.
Now, Mayweather has to deal with the mother of his three children accusing him of striking her. This could seriously derail Mayweather’s historic career if Harris sticks with the charges. The arrest certainly does him no favors. It’s one of those situations where “Money” can’t do anything right. At this point, it’s hard to believe Mayweather has many fans left. His character may be something that can be repaired, but it’s going to be difficult.
But in all actuality, Mayweather always wanted to be characterized as the “bad guy.”
Now he’s got the bad reputation and the world of boxing wants his head on a silver platter. Will he offer them the opportunity by going up against Pacquiao? We’ll have to wait and see. But even with his worst weeks happening, something tells me Mayweather will find a way to turn this into a positive for his bank account.

i like floyd mayweather jr has an athlete, ‘use’ to be a huge fan until now. i always knew he had talent after corralas. in my honest opinion, i do agree that is he afraid of manny pacquiao, and made up so much excuses to stray away from him. when i think about the outcome of their fight, id honestly say that pacquiao would win. now, i went over and over and watched many of manny pacquiaos videos from barrera, and boy…does manny got heart. pacquiao takes advantage of space-in and space-out. floyd stays in one spot. manny has better faster strikes. floyd has good defense. punches win fights. dodges dont.
