50 Cent Battles Perez Hilton
Uh oh, 50 Cent done went and pissed off the kids! Apparently, the hip-hop star was engaged in a back-and-forth with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton when he Tweeted:
After getting flak for his comments, 50 took it a step further by adding:
Although we hip-hop fans are no longer surprised by the G-Unit boss’s form of violent, twisted humor, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) isn’t taking his comments lightly. In response, GLAAD spokesman Rich Ferraro demanded 50 admit he was wrong to his over three million Twitter followers:
“It’s wrong to make jokes and promote violence against the gay community. Taking down the post is not enough. We wanted him to tell his Twitter followers that what he did was wrong.”
As of last night, the Tweets in question had not yet been removed, so good luck with that last part. This incident isn’t the first that’s pitted 50 against the gay community. According to the New York Post, back in 2004, he told Playboy magazine:
“I ain’t into faggots. I don’t like gay people around me, because I’m not comfortable with what their thoughts are…I’d rather hang out with a straight dude. But women who like women, that’s cool.”
