Should Bow Wow Quit Rapping?
Recently reports surfaced that Bow Wow is hard at work on his Cash Money debut album tentatively titled Who Is Shad Moss. Bow Wow stated in an interview with Real Talk NY that he is seeking lyrical guidance from Jadakiss (a claim that ‘Kiss says is still just in talks) for his first project since leaving Sony Records and dropping commercial failure New Jack City II.
So what exactly does Bow Wow have to keep rapping for? Maybe because he enjoys it. But the fact he’s seeking “lyrical guidance” says that he’s not comfortable with who he is as an emcee. Being a child star, it’s hard for his audience to understand his new grown up attitude. Couple that with the fact that Bow Wow’s acting career is being talked about much more than his rap career, and one has to wonder if maybe he should drop the rap and make a career out of acting.
It’s difficult to tell somebody to stop doing something that they love to do but it’s hard to see Bow Wow’s next album becoming a critical and commercial success. As a rapper, Bow Wow was never good. The kids loved him but now he’s a 23-year-old man with a completely different perspective than his “Bounce With Me” days. When he rapped about kid stuff, it was cute for the little girls. But now that he’s grown, hearing him spew rhymes about having a pole in his basement is kind of awkward.
The biggest problem for Bow Wow is making his grown-man rap believable for his audience. It’s a situation that plagues many kid rappers and most never come out of the situation any better. For Bow Wow, his acting career is flourishing and if this new album fails, he should really consider a future in film.
There’s nothing wrong with that. Sooner or later you have to grow up, right?

wrong i think from my point of veiw that bow wow is a sucsessful rapper who deserves respect on that no many ppl make it and he did he had music and movie now and i wish him all the best and look at it now he is with cash money so his album who is shad mosss should be a hit !!

I also think Bow has it in him to be successful as a rapper and moving to a new label is what he needed. All of his Greenlight Mixtapes were better than his New Jack City album. He has a strong fan base I believe if he could find that balance that he had on his last great album, in my opinion, Unleashed.
Thought he said he was quiting rap because he liked being pampered in acting?. How is “the lottery ticket” flourishing? Sorry I had to take the shot. As a rapper he’s aite but if he enjoys it then fine. If he’s in it for the money he should probably stop.
Quit rap get your Will Smith on. Try to master being an actor. You have negative street credibility, to the point where your making Cash Money lose some of theirs. 3 words in this article just put the nail in the casket that his rap career belongs in, “seeking lyrical guidance”, as a rapper you cant be associated to those words and still hold any weight, unless your name is Dr. DRE. I know others have done it, but keep it on the hush.
i think bow wow is doing great. he just moved labels and if thats wat he has to do to be a success in the music industry then he deserves respect. he isnt a lil kid nemor so of course his music is going to change. fans need to accept that or move on. he kaint stop his flow for tha haterz. praise to bow wow for holding down his own!

Well for one thing comin from my own experiences anyone who cant stick with their own style should quit otherwise ur just a woman’s panties wearin fake motherfucker who cant even spit a flow much less try to hold down a style so in layman’s terms hang up the mic the last time i even listened to bow wow was when he was a turd burgler singin about where my dogs at!!
