“Hello world, Kendrick here.” And I hope he’s here to stay. Kendrick Lamar is a rapper from Compton, California who raps about material people can relate to. With the release of his latest mixtape, Overly Dedicated, Kendrick is becoming one of the leaders of the new west.

Since Kendrick is from Compton you may expect to hear lyrics based on gang banging and drug paraphernalia, but the more you listen to Kendrick the more you realize his is music folks can just sit down and relate to. Take a listen to three of the best songs from his latest mixtape.
