On a recent promotional run for “Just A Dream,” his latest hit single in a successful hip-hop career started over 10 years ago with 2000′s classic Country Grammar, Nelly sat with me to chat about his return to the spotlight and the excitement behind the release of his new album, 5.0. He discusses his recent radio gig in his hometown of St. Louis (and the unexpected negativity around it), the importance of versatility for an artist’s career longevity, why he admires Diddy, his fitness DVD Celebrity Sweat and new updates on Apple Bottoms.
5.0 (featuring guest appearances from Chris Brown, Akon, T.I., Usher and more) is out on November 16.
